I recently submitted my PhD thesis at University of New South Wales Sydney. I work in the I-DEEL lab advised by Prof. Shinichi Nakagawa. My PhD focuses on utilizing systematic-like research to better understand coral health and how reefs are being impacted by and responding to the effects of climate change.
Academic Background/Interests
My interest in coral disease ecology began when I surveyed coral reefs in mainland Hawai’i with Prof. Drew Harvell. However, I’m not solely interested in corals. I have a BSc in Biological Sciences with a specialization in Marine Biology from Cornell University. At Cornell, I examined the dentition of skeletal samples of Triggerfishes and Filefishes to better understand their phylogeny with Prof. William E Bemis and Dr. Katherine E Bemis. My interests lie generally in marine ecology and biology, particularly in relation to how climate change is impacting marine ecosystems.
